PRIMARY DIVISION ~

The Primary Division is designed for students ages 3-8 who wish to experience the joy of dance and movement. Students will develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and musicality in a fun and creative atmosphere that inspires the imagination and instills in each student a love for dance. Upon graduation from the Primary Division, students will be prepared to audition for the Academy Division. 

Pre-Ballet/Tap: 1 hour per week recommended

(Ages 3-4)

 

Primary Ballet A: 1 hour per week recommended

(Ages 5-6)

 

Primary Ballet B: 1 hour per week recommended

(Ages 6-7)

ACADEMY DIVISION ~

The Academy Division is designed for pre-professional students ages 7-18. Acceptance is through audition only. In this division students will study the Vagonova Method of Classical Ballet and work to develop correct alignment, technique, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and artistry. Students can expect to remain in each level for 1-2 years until complete mastery of the curriculum is achieved. Discipline, hard work, and determination are required of all students in order to progress. Students must be able to fulfill the minimum number of required hours per level in order to enroll. Academy Beginning A: 2.5 hours per week

(Ages 7-9) 

 

One year of prior training required. In this level the basics of classical technique are introduced with an emphasis on placement of the arms and legs, alignment of the spine, building external rotation in the hips, basic barre work, jumps, and conditioning.

 

 

Academy Beginning B/C: 5.5 hours per week required

(Ages 8-12)

 

Two years of prior training required. In this level students continue to build on the concepts introduced in Academy Beggining A and work to increase their overall flexibility and strength. More work on demi-pointe is added to build strength for pointe. Beggining turns and more complex jumps are also introduced. Pointe work is begun by invitation only after students show adequate strength, techinque, and focus.

 

Academy Intermediate A/B: 14-16.5 hours per week required

(Ages 10-15)

 

Intermediate level required. In this level students will continue to build strength on pointe and add more complexity to their movements. They will focus on coordination of the entire body as well as musicality and artistry.

 

Academy Advanced A/B: 17.5 hours per week required

(Ages 13-18)

 

Advanced level required. In this level students will continue to refine their technical and artistic abilities and work to develop their grande tours and grande allegro.

PRIVATES ~

Private lessons are available upon request. However due to the small class sizes and individualized instruction, we do not believe that privates are necessary in order to progress. Privates can be useful to work on specific issues or challenges that a student may be facing in their technique or to prepare for a special event such as a performance or competition. Prices available upon request.

SUMMER PROGRAMS ~

Classes will be offered for all ages and levels throughout the month of July and August.

COMPETITIONS ~

Participation in competitions is through inviation only or upon the approval of the Director.
